The preparation work before construction is the first step in the installation of the PVC300 drain pipe, and it is also the key to the smooth progress of the follow-up. The first thing to do is to carefully check the pipe - feel the wall for cracks and depressions, see if the end of the pipe is flat, and whether there are any residual plastic debris or dust on the inner wall. If the pipe is found to be damaged, even if it is only a small crack, do not make do with it, it is likely to become a hidden danger of water leakage later. Tools and accessories must also be prepared in advance: tape measure, level, special pipe cutter (or sharp hacksaw), PVC cleaner, special glue, and galvanized angle steel or plastic brackets for support, all of which should be placed smoothly to avoid the delay of looking back and forth during construction.
Large-diameter PVC pipes are mostly connected by socket-type gluing process. This step pays the most attention to "clean" and "timely". First wipe the outer surface of the pipe and the inner surface of the pipe with a dry cloth, and then spray some special cleaner to completely remove oil and dust - if there is oil stain that is not cleaned, the glue will not stick well at all. After the cleaner dries, quickly apply glue: the outer circle of the pipe should be fully coated, and the inner circle of the pipe should also be evenly coated, so as not to miss the edge. Immediately insert the pipe into the pipe. When inserting, align it with the axis, push it to the bottom at one time, and then gently turn it about 15 degrees to allow the glue to cover the contact surface more evenly. At this time, don't worry about moving the pipe. You have to wait 3-5 minutes for the glue to cure, otherwise the interface will be easy to loosen.
Support and fixing is the most prone to problems with large-diameter pipes. The PVC300 pipe itself is not small in weight, and it is heavier after being filled with water. If the bracket is not installed properly, it is easy to sag or even disconnect. The bracket spacing of the horizontal pipe is generally controlled within 1.5 meters, and the vertical pipe is installed every 2 meters. If you encounter a turning, variable diameter or a position compressed by a heavy object, you have to add an additional bracket. The bracket must be made of a material that can bear weight, such as 3mm thick galvanized angle steel. When fixing, tighten it with expansion screws, and don't let the bracket dangle. Also, it is best to pad soft rubber pads where the pipe and the bracket are in contact to prevent the metal bracket from wearing through the pipe
Slope control is directly related to the drainage effect. The slope of the PVC300 drain pipe must be maintained at 0.5% -1% (that is, 5-10 mm per meter) - the slope is too small, and the sewage cannot be discharged and is easy to block; if the slope is too large, the water flow will be washed out too fast. Take a level or slope ruler to measure during construction. For example, when laying a horizontal pipe, measure it every 2 meters to ensure that the slope of the entire pipe is consistent. If the ground is uneven, you have to use a bracket to adjust the height. Don't just pad something to deal with it in order to save trouble.
The final acceptance process cannot be saved. Do the water closure test first: seal the two ends of the pipe with plugs, fill it with water, and keep it for 24 hours to see if there are any traces of water seepage - if there are water droplets at the joints, it means that the glue is not well applied, and it has to be disassembled and re-glued. Then check the appearance: whether the pipe is deformed, whether the bracket is loose, and whether the pipe card is tightened. Finally, test drainage: fill a bucket of water and pour it into the pipe to see if the water flow can be drained quickly. If there is no stagnant water, it is qualified.
In fact, the installation of PVC300 drain pipe is not so complicated. As long as every step is done carefully - check the pipe is not lazy, and make it clean when connecting. The bracket is fixed firmly enough, the slope is measured accurately, and the acceptance is serious, you can ensure that the drainage system will last for a long time. Don't be fast during construction, slow work can produce meticulous work, and there will be less repairs and less supplements in the later stage.
