As an important city along the Yangtze River, with the development of the city, the original drainage pipe network gradually shows problems such as aging and insufficient drainage capacity. It is prone to partial waterlogging during the flood season, which affects citizens' travel and urban operation. The recently launched urban pipe network repair project focuses on the introduction of plastic pipes to optimize the overall layout of urban drainage and improve the efficiency of the drainage system.
Compared with traditional pipes, plastic pipes have the characteristics of corrosion resistance, aging resistance, and light weight, which not only reduces the difficulty and cycle of construction, but also can better adapt to the complex underground environment of the urban area and reduce the maintenance cost in the later stage. In terms of layout optimization, the construction team combined the topography, population distribution and business district density of the urban area to re-plan the drainage path, using large-diameter plastic pipes to build the trunk drainage network, and matching the branch small pipe network to cover the old community and back streets and alleys, forming a drainage system with distinct primary and secondary and smooth connection.
The renovation project broke the limitations of the original pipe network. Through the flexible laying of plastic pipes, it made up for the drainage shortcomings in low-lying areas and effectively reduced the risk of waterlogging. At the same time, the smooth inner wall of plastic pipes can improve the drainage flow rate, avoid the accumulation of debris, and ensure the long-term stable operation of the drainage system. The optimized drainage layout not only adapts to the current development needs of the urban area, but also reserves drainage space for future urban expansion, helping to create a more livable and safer urban environment.
