In the construction of sponge cities, the reliable support of large-diameter pipelines is indispensable for the rapid diversion, regulation, storage and storage of rainwater runoff. DN1500 carat pipe, which is a high-density polyethylene winding reinforced pipe with a nominal inner diameter of 1500 mm, has become a key part of urban drainage and waterlogging prevention and rainwater resource utilization by virtue of its structural advantages.
The carat tube adopts a continuous winding molding process, using high-density polyethylene as the base material, and the corrugated reinforcing ribs are synchronously welded on the flat belt pipe body to form a mechanical section of I-beam. This structure allows the DN1500 specification pipe to obtain high ring stiffness while greatly reducing the wall thickness. Its own weight is much lower than that of traditional concrete pipes, but it can withstand deep soil covering and heavy traffic loads. For the concave green space and permeable pipe network under the rain garden common in sponge cities, the lightweight and high-strength carat tube can effectively reduce the cost of foundation treatment and adapt to the micro-settlement in soft soil areas.
Sponge City emphasizes "seepage, stagnation, storage, purification, use, and discharge". The DN1500 carat pipe is outstanding in the storage and discharge process. Its inner wall is smooth, and the Manning roughness coefficient is only about 0.009. The water-passing capacity is significantly improved at the same slope. It can be connected to a storage tank or an ecological retention facility to quickly transfer the purified rainwater to the municipal pipe network or reuse system. The interface is connected by electric hot melt belt welding or socket sealing ring. The water closure test can achieve zero leakage, which not only prevents groundwater infiltration and extrusion from occupying the pipe capacity, but also prevents sewage leakage from polluting the soil, which meets the strict requirements of sponge city for water quality safety.
At the construction level, the length of a single DN1500 carat pipe is usually 6 meters. It can be hoisted with only light lifting equipment on site. The trench excavation width is small and the backfill speed is fast. When reforming the pipe network in the built-up area of the city, traffic blockage can be minimized. The flexibility of the pipe makes it have a certain seismic capacity. When the foundation is not uniformly settled, the joints will not be brittle fractures like rigid pipes, ensuring the integrity of the long-term operation of the sponge facility.
From the rainwater transmission trunk pipe to the connecting pipe of the regulation and storage module, the DN1500 carat pipe has the comprehensive properties of large diameter, zero leakage, corrosion resistance and easy construction, making the "breathing" channel of the sponge city more unobstructed. Reasonable selection of such high-quality pipes will help to build a more resilient urban water circulation system, so that rainwater can truly become a resource that nourishes the city.
